Caravaggio and His Legacy

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in conjunction with the Musée Fabre, Montpellier and the Musée des Augustins, Toulouse are co-organizing and presenting an exhibition devoted to Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610) and the impact that his revolutionary art had on art in Italy and throughout Europe.

The Mourners:

Tomb Sculptures from the Court of Burgundy

TRAVELING TO EUROPE: Between 2010 and 2012, FRAME brought 39 celebrated masterpieces of medieval Burgundian sculpture to seven museums across the United States. The Mourners consists of sculptures from the tomb of John the Fearless (1342-1404), the second duke of Burgundy. His elaborate tomb, once housed at a monastery on the outskirts of Dijon, is now one of the centerpieces of the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Dijon which, with the Dallas Museum of Art, is organizing the exhibition.
